Du 18 au

Le Noël d’Astérion

From Saturday 18 December to Friday 31 December, Asterion the Minotaur invites you to spend your days with family and friends in its home, the Halle de La Machine. An end-of-year holidays atmosphere is being prepared: tales readings, braséros, delicacies... and the icing on the cake: three Petites Mécaniques dinners to end the year.

The air smells of chocolate and mulled wine, the snow suddenly starts to fall, the tables of the Dîner des Petites Mécaniques are being set up… the team of the Halle de La Machine is preparing a festive programme for the end of the year.

Reading of tales

From Saturday 18 December, the Véritables Machinistes invite children to storytelling sessions. Comfortably seated in front of the bookshop, in the warmth of the braziers, children’s reference books on the world of Christmas and, of course, Greek mythology, will be read
> Every day from 18 to 31 December (except Mondays and 25 December) at 4:00 pm for 8-11 year olds and 4.45 pm for 4-7 year olds / Free on reservation

Tours of La Halle and journeys in the Minotaur

Les Véritables Machinistes also invite you to explore the mechanical labyrinth of La Halle de La Machine. Until 31 December, take advantage of the last days of the exhibition “Building the Dragon of Calais” which presents the 18 months of work to create this monumental machine, 25 metres tall and weighing 72 tonnes. Let yourself be charmed by Asterion the Minotaur and go for a walk in his temple of travel, 10 metres high, to discover the changing district in which he evolves. On the historical track, go on board the Carré Sénart carousel. Choose your insect, fish or buffalo and greet the other passengers! Throughout the holidays, the Minotaure Café opens its doors to you for a hot wine, a chocolate or any other delicacy suitable for this winter time. For end-of-year gifts, La Belle Boutique offers a selection of books and a host of toys in the world of La Machine.

Meeting with a Prestigious Guest: Marc Caro

Co-director with Jean-Pierre Jeunet of Delicatessen and La Cité des enfants perdus, Marc Caro has also created posters, music and set designs for choreographers Régine Chopinot and Philippe Decouflé. He has also been the artistic director of the films Alien ressurection by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Blueberry by Jan Kounen, and Enter the void by Gaspar Noé, among others… On Tuesday 21 December, Marc Caro invites us to a conference in his dreamlike and protean universe. He will tell us about his career before the screening of La Cité des enfants perdus. To conclude the day, Marc Caro will present the small electronic music machines, otherwise known as modular, that he has brought with him in his suitcases at the Minotaure Café. Marc reinvents Christmas musical standards. Will you be able to recognize them?

> Tuesday 21 December: 3:00 pm: Lecture by Marc Caro followed by the screening of “La Cité des enfants perdus” by Marc Caro and Jean-Pierre Jeunet / 5.30 pm – Blind test Jingle Bells
