1917, Pierre Georges Lat\u00e9co\u00e8re sets up his factory and establishes the first industrial aeronautical construction site in Toulouse. Between 1918 and 1933, the Lat\u00e9co\u00e8re and A\u00e9ropostale lines were created and with them the first great exploits: Barcelona, \u200b\u200bBuenos Aires, Santiago de Chile. A\u00e9ropostale then became the largest airline in the world with nearly 15,000 km of route. Air France then set up its overhaul center there until 2003. In 2018, the metropolis of Toulouse and town planner David Mangin reinvented a large-scale urban project for the Montaudran district with the ambition of innovation.<\/p>\n

1.8 km long, partly listed as a Historic Monument, the Runway is the link between the central Bouilloux-Lafont square – the heart of the neighborhood and the Gardens of la Ligne – a circuit and playground for children, transposing walkers into the landscapes crossed by the pioneers of A\u00e9ropostale. A living and meeting space in this booming neighborhood.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This Giants Runway also links the memory of the A\u00e9ropostale with the establishment of L’Envol des Pionniers, a space dedicated to the pioneers of aeronautical adventure, to the artistic project carried out by Fran\u00e7ois Delaroziere at the Halle of la Machine, based on the staging of the show machines of the Company La Machine. The Minotaur, specially designed for Toulouse, like a mobile architecture, links these worlds by carrying around fifty travelers on its back along this legendary runway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Giants Runway today combines the memory of a historic site and the A\u00e9ropostale with the establishment of L\u2019Envol des Pionniers <\/a>, a space dedicated to the pioneers of aeronautical adventure, to the artistic project carried out by Fran\u00e7ois Delaroziere at the Halle of la Machine, based on the staging of the show machines of the Company La Machine. The Giants Runway today combines the memory of a historic site and the artistic project of Company La Machine. This project for the cultural reconversion of the district, supported by Toulouse M\u00e9tropole, encourages new uses of the runway and its surroundings and brings Montaudran to life thanks to regular cultural programming on the Giants Runway.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/div>
