anatomy of a show
The exhibition ‘Anatomy of a Show’ lifts the veil on the creation of the urban opera ‘Le Gardien du Temple – La Porte des Ténèbres’ (The Guardian of the Temple – The Gate of Darkness). This hugely successful show attracted no fewer than 1.2 million curious spectators to the streets of Toulouse. This time, the Compagnie de la Machine shines a spotlight on the artisans behind the scenes, the passionate creators whose work was essential to the success of this masterpiece. Through sketches and drawings, the exhibition reveals the little-known origins of Lilith. From the initial model to the final version, it took over a year of work to craft her bust, her sting and the ornaments that surround her.
